Read and Romp! READ AND ROMP, a free one-day, community-wide celebration held on Saturday, July 24th from noon to 4 pm, marked the official launch of Read Out and Read at Northwest Pediatric Center. Curious George, the Man in the Yellow Hat, Clifford the Big Red Dog, the Cat in the Hat, Dorothy and Toto were specially invited guests that made many kids feels like they were at Disneyland! 2009-2010 Little Miss Friendly Josey Rosbach also made an appearance.
Approximately 300-400 children romped through the 10 fun-filled storybook stations where they participated in the following activities:
- The Hound From the Pound: Children enjoyed cuddling adoptable kittens from the Lewis County Animal Shelter.
- Three Stories You Can Read to Your Dog: Kids read books to dogs from PAWS to R.E.A.D. and Northwest Pediatric Center (Sophie and Daphne).
