Well-child exams are perhaps the most integral part of pediatrics. During these 20-30 minute appointments we discuss your concerns about your child’s growth, development and overall health. Toilet training, behavioral challenges, nutrition issues and immunizations are some of the things we’ll talk about. We’ll also help you know what to expect in the coming months and years of your child’s life.
Because well-child exams require extended time, they often need to be scheduled two to three months in advance. If you have concerns in addition to the usual well-child questions, please inform the receptionist when you make your appointment so we can give you plenty of time to discuss those issues with your provider.
Most insurance plans cover the cost of a basic well-child appointment, meaning the patient’s family pays nothing. If your provider identifies a health or psychological issue that goes beyond what’s part of a normal well-child visit, your insurance plan may not cover these additional costs and you may be responsible for some or all of the additional billing. Call 360-807-1393 if you have questions about your bill or to set up a payment plan.
